Dr. Lloyd “Chip” Taylor is in his 14th year at The Citadel and 11th as NCAA faculty athletics representative. He holds the rank of Col and professor of psychology at The Citadel and teaches in both the undergraduate and graduate programs.
Taylor received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee and completed his doctoral training at The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). In addition to his teaching career, Taylor is trained as a clinical psychologist who specializes in pediatric psychology.
Taylor has a longstanding history of involvement with intercollegiate athletics. His father, Chuck Taylor, served as the director of athletics at Radford from 1974-1996, exposing his son to numerous aspects of intercollegiate athletics.
While at Tennessee, Taylor tutored student-athletes and he worked with SoCon member Samford in coordinating study hall programs for student-athletes while pursuing his graduate studies at UAB.
Taylor and his wife, Erica, have three sons, Enuka, Walker and Charlie, and a daughter, Kelly Grey.
