Donnell Boucher

Assistant Athletic Director/Director of Strength & Conditioning

Donnell Boucher is in his eighth year at The Citadel and seventh as head strength and conditioning coach.

“Coach D” came to The Citadel as a graduate assistant in May 2007.  Over the next six years, he was promoted three times to assistant director, director and assistant athletic director while establishing a consistent track record for recruiting and placing capable assistants. Former Citadel strength and conditioning staff members developed under Boucher have gone on to work at Appalachian State, Baylor, College of Charleston, Eastern Michigan, Elon, Kennesaw State and Marshall.

Boucher has worked directly with the Bulldog football and baseball programs.  Under his direction, several Citadel athletes have been drafted into the professional ranks, most notably football players Andre Roberts and Cortez Allen, as well as the highest draft pick in the history of the school, baseball’s  Asher Wojciechowski.

Well-respected in his field, Boucher has been published by various media outlets and has become a regular presenter at industry clinics across the nation.

Boucher earned bachelor’s degree in health education from Worcester State in 2005 where he was a four-year letterman in football.  In 2010, he completed his master’s degree in health, exercise and sport science from The Citadel and is currently working towards a second master’s degree in social science with a focus in leadership.

Prior to his arrival at The Citadel, Boucher served as performance director for the Competitive Athlete Training Zone in Auburn, Mass., where he trained athletes of all levels.

His professional certifications include the NSCA’s certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) and the CSCCA’s strength and conditioning coach certified (SCCC).  He is also a certified CPR/BLS Health Care Provider(+AED).
